Department of Human Resource Mission

The Office of Human Resources Department aspires to be the model for excellence and leadership in human resources, delivering strategic and progressive human resource solutions and counsel that support and enable the District’s mission and strategy.  We strive to be a catalyst that makes Octorara Area School District an employer of choice.

Department Goals and Objectives

  • Create approaches and strategies that ensure we have the organization and workforce needed to deliver on our District’s mission.

  • Provide HR counsel and trusted partnership to leaders and employees District wide.

  • Facilitate organizational change and alignment though our departments mission and vision and in conjunction with OASD’s Strategic Pathway.

  • Build a Diverse, Equitable and Inclusive campus by supporting a culture that is employee centered. Policies that are centered on the protection, safety and unique needs of the changing environment.

  • Ensure fair, consistent and compliant HR practices across the District.

  • Drive effective and efficient HR operations, systems, and processes that demonstrate protection and direction of our resources.

The Office of Human Resources administers certain employee-related programs for the District, maintains both computer and manual systems of personnel records, interprets District personnel policies and procedures, and carries out functional responsibilities related to the District’s personnel program, including:

How to Apply

Openings are posted through our applicant tracking system. Current (less than one year old) Child Abuse, State Police, and FBI clearances must be included in your application packet for your application to be considered.

All unsolicited paperwork sent to the Human Resources Office will not be reviewed for employment purposes. The sender will be notified to retrieve the documents within ten (10) business days. If he/she does not retrieve the documents within that time, they will be destroyed.
