The School Board Education Committee is on schedule for a 6:00 PM start Monday March 24, 2025. There is NO special meeting prior to the start of the Education Committee meeting.
School Climate Survey Update: - March 28 Deadline Extended.
As part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students and staff, the Octorara Area School District has engaged TNG Consulting, LLC to conduct a comprehensive Climate Study focused on issues related to sexual harassment and sex discrimination within our district.
TNG is drafting questions for a parent, student and employee survey. TNG is in the process of interviewing administrators at Octorara. From these interviews, TNG is creating a survey specifically for our district based on what TNG learns about our own internal systems of support for students and families.
The deadline of March 28 to opt out of the survey has been suspended until the questions have been created, the school board can review them and approve their use with our community, according to board policy 235.1 governing surveys.
In order to help our parents/guardians make an informed decision, we will update the community in April with the questions that will be used in the survey. Parents/guardians will be able to view the questions that will be part of the survey of students and will be able to make an informed decision for their family.
We will notify parents and guardians when this form is updated with the TNG questions for consideration.

Congratulations Ella Teufert as the 1st PIAA State Medalist for Octorara Girls Wrestling. She earned 4th place at Hershey this past weekend. The last time Octorara wrestling earned a state medal was thirteen years ago.
Great job Ella, Coach Johnson and Coach Burridge on a historical season.

Shrek The Musical returns to the Octorara stage tonight! The students have worked hard on this production as was proven in last nightâs performance! Start your weekend off with the adventures of Shrek and his friends. The show starts at 7:00 âtickets are available at the door - $12 for adults, $10 for students and seniors.

With the uncertainty of the weather forecast that including snow and the possibility of ice, we have decided to cancel the high school dance for this evening. We would rather err on the side of caution, especially with student drivers being on the road. We will either postpone the event or simply refund studentsâ money depending on the availability of future dates. We appreciate your understanding and hope you have a nice weekend.
OPLC Global School Play Day is well underway. We have played Hungry Hungry Hippo, Candyland, Connect Four, Shopkins, built forts, painted and just played. What a fantastic day to celebrate!
