Octorara welcomed three new members to its Athletic Hall of Fame during a special assembly on October 2. The 2026 inductees are P. Malcom "Mac" Souders, Class of 1965; Deborah Atkins, Teacher and Coach, 1980-2015; and Deandre Clark, Class of 2011.

P. Malcom "Mac" Souders
Souders was a standout three-sport athlete at Octorara, competing in soccer, baseball, and basketball. He played four years of varsity soccer and four years of varsity baseball, earning team MVP honors in both sports, while also playing three years of basketball.

During the 1964-65 school year, Souders was recognized as Octorara's Most Outstanding Athlete across all three sports.

His connection to Octorara continued long after his playing days. Souders returned to the district as an administrative assistant and later served as Athletic Director from 1977 to 1984. He went on to serve as a librarian at Reeceville Elementary School for 10 years before retiring.

Deborah Atkins
Atkins dedicated 36 years to Octorara High School as a mathematics educator, serving from 1979 through 2015. She also made a lasting impact on Octorara Athletics during her career.

Atkins coached 22 seasons of field hockey at Octorara, helping build a successful program that regularly reached postseason competition and captured a District Championship. She also coached basketball, softball, and track and field.

Her involvement in field hockey has continued well beyond her time at Octorara. Since 2015, Atkins has represented the United States on the USA Masters Field Hockey Team, competing internationally at Masters World Cups and other competitions.

Deandre Clark
A three-year varsity basketball starter at Octorara, Clark earned First Team All-Ches-Mont and Third Team All-State honors as a senior. He helped lead Octorara to the 2011 District Championship and finished his high school career with 1,019 points.

Clark continued his basketball career at Alvernia University, where he scored 1,128 points and helped the team win three consecutive MAC Conference Championships from 2013 through 2015. He was named MVP of the 2015 MAC Conference Championship.
