School Safety Partnership
Octorara Area School District is strengthening its school safety program through a new partnership with the Parkesburg Police Department and the addition of two District Campus Safety Officers.

Families may see Parkesburg Police officers and Octorara Campus Safety Officers during morning drop-off, afternoon pick-up, throughout the school day, and at school events. Their presence is a proactive part of our school safety program, providing additional visibility and supervision, supporting safe and orderly school environments, assisting with emergency preparedness, and building positive relationships with students and staff.

Seeing a police officer or Campus Safety Officer at school does not necessarily mean there is a safety concern or emergency. Their regular presence is part of our enhanced approach to school safety.

Through the partnership with the Parkesburg Police Department, a dedicated School Resource Officer (SRO) will work with students, staff, administrators, and families to support prevention, safety initiatives, emergency preparedness, and a safe and positive learning environment.

Our two Campus Safety Officers (CSOs) are District employees who provide an additional safety presence across our buildings and campuses. They assist with supervision, arrival and dismissal, school events, emergency preparedness, and other school safety needs.

Together, this approach strengthens our partnership with local law enforcement while providing additional daily safety support throughout the District. It reflects Octorara’s commitment to maintaining safe, welcoming, and supportive learning environments for all students and staff.
