Battle of the PE Classes to Support Brave Haven Begins May 1

Octorara Area School District is excited to launch the Battle of the PE Classes, a friendly competition focused on giving back to the community. Beginning May 1 and running through May 11, students in Mr. Soltesz’s and Mrs. Trainor’s physical education classes will compete to see which group can collect the most donations in support of Brave Haven.

Students are encouraged to bring in household items, hygiene products, and non-perishable food items throughout the duration of the event. The goal of the initiative is to unite students through a fun and meaningful competition while supporting families within the district. Each contribution, no matter how small, will help make a difference.

The Battle of the PE Classes highlights the power of community, generosity, and teamwork, reinforcing the district’s commitment to supporting one another both inside and outside the classroom.

Octorara Students Make a Difference – Third Year Running!

For the third consecutive year, Amara Campoli has led Octorara’s annual item drive supporting Good Samaritan Services in Coatesville. Over the past two weeks, students at both the high school and middle school demonstrated incredible generosity and school spirit.

At the high school, grades competed to see who could collect the most items. 9th grade came out on top and was rewarded with a pizza lunch from Dr. Propper.

At the middle school, students also participated enthusiastically, with Advisory classrooms joining in the effort. The winning Advisory classes were:

6th Grade: Ms. Morlando
7th Grade: Ms. Mummert
8th Grade: Mr. Gebhardt

Together, students collected 586 items to support families in need. We are proud of our students for demonstrating compassion, teamwork, and a strong commitment to their community.
