    In the elementary building we are currently pushing into the classroom to support the English Language Learners (ELLs) within the framework of Reader’s Workshop and Writer’s Workshop.  The English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher travels to the students’ homeroom classes.  Individual conferences are conducted with each ELL to check for understanding of content taught and implementation of strategies and skills.  The ESL teacher frequently collaborates with the classroom teacher to confirm the ELL’s progress and to offer helpful strategies and suggestion when necessary.
