A Special Note from the Principal
April 20, 2020
Dear OES Families:
I hope this message finds you and your family well during this difficult time.
As you know, from the phone message you received from Dr. Orner on Friday, today begins the next phase of our BRAVESengage continuity of education plan. During the last two weeks, teachers provided optional learning activities to students through Seesaw which provided review and enrichment opportunities for previously learned skills. Beginning today, teachers will be providing required learning activities and assignments to students that will teach new grade level skills and concepts. New assignments and learning activities for the week will be posted in Seesaw each Monday morning. Students may work on the learning activities at their own pace and in any order they choose.
Teachers will be providing feedback to students on their completed learning activities through Seesaw, indicating whether or not they have met the learning target or will be giving them suggestions on what they can do to improve. While we understand that there are many factors and variables at play which will affect the overall learning experience your child has, we ask that you and your child do the best you can to complete and submit the activities the teachers have designed for students to do at home.
If you have questions or concerns about the learning activities the teachers are providing to your child, you should reach out to his or her teacher via email or Seesaw. If you are in need of an iPad or internet access to participate in the program, please contact our district office at 610-593-8238. We have devices and solutions ready to go.
In closing, we thank you for your patience, understanding, and flexibility as we transition teaching and learning from a traditional approach to a virtual one. We understand that it is not ideal, but we will do our best to support you and your child during this unique time. We encourage you to keep learning and look forward to working with you and your child.
