    The Octorara Area School District Board of Directors voted on Monday May 15, 2017 to approve an agreement with the Octorara Area Education Association.  The agreement that the Association is presently working under expires June 30, 2018.  The new agreement was previously ratified by the members of the Octorara Area Education Association which represents 197 Professional Employees and 93 Support Employees. Upon ratification by the Board of Directors, Adam Udell, representing the Association came forward to officially notify the public of the Association’s ratification of the agreement.  The agreement is for four years starting July 1, 2018 and ending June 30, 2022.

    The agreement calls for the following conditions related to salary and benefits:

    Professional Staff

    2018-2019            Salary increase of 1.5%

    2019-2020            $550 added to each step and level plus movement for seniority equaling a 2.24%                                            increase

    2020-2021            $600 added to each step and level plus movement for seniority equaling a 2.24%                                            increase

    2021-2022            $650 added to each step and level plus movement for seniority totaling a 2.26%                                                              increase, plus $800 off scale bonus for all eligible members who do not take health and                                              prescription benefits

     

    Support Staff

    2018-2019            Salary increase of 2.35%

    2019-2020            Salary increase of 2.35%

    2020-2021            Salary increase of 2.35%

    2021-2022            Salary increase of 2.35%

     

    Benefits:

    Achieved cost avoidance of approximately $900,000 over the four year agreement by implementing changes in benefit plans by moving all eligible union employees into a qualified high deductible health and integrated prescription plan.
